Well-known commentator Aakash Chopra feels there is more pressure on New Zealand as compared to the Indian cricket team. New Zealand has so far managed to score 101 for 2 after bowling India for 217 on Day 3 of the World Test Championship final in Southampton. Aakash Chopra believes New Zealand will need a lead of at least 150 runs if they are to seize advantage after having opted to bowl first in a one-off final. The former Indian batsman also mentioned that New Zealand will know they are not out of the woods yet. However, Aakash Chopra feels the Men in Blue are very much in the game, and things can turn around. This can only happen if Indian pacers are able to swing the ball better on Monday in Southampton.

Devon Conway and Tom Latham added 70 runs for the first wicket

Team India managed to come up with a decent performance with their skipper Kohli leading from the front. On day two, the Indian team somehow managed to focus and headed to Stumps on 146 for 3. However, things completely changed on Sunday morning. After the dismissal of Kohli, India's batting line-up collapsed. The Men in Blue were bundled out for 217 runs. New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson picked up Virat Kohli's wicket and further shocked them with Rishabh Pant's wicket.

In response, the Indian cricket team did not manage to find as much swing as New Zealand. However, the team somehow managed to keep the run flow in check. NZ opening batsmen Devon Conway and Tom Latham added 70 runs for the first wicket. However, R Ashwin struck in the 35th over and dismissed Tom Latham for 30. Kiwi Skipper Kane Williamson offered good support to Devon Conway. The opening batsman got to his third fifty-plus score in Tests. However, it was Indian pacer Ishant Sharma who was successful in removing Devon Conway on 54 before bad light forced early stumps.

Aakash Chopra concluded the discussion by stating that Indian seamer has to be able to find swing on Day 4 to make sure they trouble the NZ. He also reckoned that Ravichandran Ashwin might be a huge threat with the ball as he got assistance from the pitch on Sunday. The ICC World Test Championship Final will head into the reserve day if a result is not produced within the first 5 days.
