The 2016 T20 World Cup-winning star, Carlos Brathwaite is all set to captain Birmingham Bears in the T20 Blast. As he returns from a shoulder injury, the all-rounder is taking advantage of the opportunity to get some game time with the village team, Knowle and Dorridge, before the tournament begins next month.
The 33-year old made his debut for the club against Leamington Cricket Club in a 50-over game on the Easter weekend. However, things never were good for him in the match. The all-rounder bowled for the first time in the last six months and was smashed for 31 runs in his four overs, making him the most expensive bowler of the innings. He was then dismissed on a golden duck in his debut game as his team lost by 12 runs.
Moreover, his car was stolen on the same day. He took to Twitter to make the revelations. "What a day yesterday. First time bowling in a game after injury for six months - First ball duck from a long hop - Car stolen But you know what, woke up this morning, Sun is shining and giving thanks. Happy Easter to all," he wrote.

After a good time as an overseas player last year, Brathwaite was appointed Birmingham Bears captain. With 18 wickets at an average of 17.61, he was the club's highest wicket-taker. He also scored 183 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 150.
"Edgbaston is a very special place to play at and it was great to get a taste of the atmosphere last year. Hopefully, we can welcome thousands more fans to get the Eric Hollies Stand rocking next year and make Edgbaston the real fortress for the Bears which it's renowned for," mirror.co.uk quoted Brathwaite saying.
