Veteran Indian all-rounder and modern-day spin legend, Ravichandran Ashwin is known as one of the most intelligent and very active cricketing brains in the current generation. Ashwin never fails the cricket with his fans with brilliance, be it with the ball on the cricket or while sharing his blunt opinions off the field.

The fans are pouring out their wishes for the modern-day Test legend as he turned 37 today. Fans took to social media to come up with some heartfelt birthday wishes to the Indian star. Apart from fans, some of the big names in the cricketing fraternity, including the veteran sports journalists and some former cricketers, have also wished Ashwin on his 37th birthday.

Speaking of cricket, he is the first Indian bowler in Test history to be the fastest to achieve the milestone of 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, and 450 Test wickets. He is the second leading wicket-taker for India in the Tests with 489 scalps to his name just after the former legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble, who claimed 619 Test wickets in his career.

Other than Test cricket, Ashwin has also scalped 151 wickets in 113 ODIs, alongside 72 wickets in 65 T20Is. Apart from his bowling heroics, the 37-year-old has also shown his brilliance with the bat, hitting 5 centuries and 14 half-centuries in his Test career, with a total of 3185 runs with the bat. He is currently World No. 2 in the all-rounder rankings, just after his teammate and star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

"I have tattooed Indian cricket close to my heart." - Ravichandran Ashwin

Talking about the current scenario of Team India and Indian cricket, Ashwin is speculated to make a potential return to India’s squad for the ODI World Cup 2023, in India. The assumptions started just after the star all-rounder Axar Patel sustained an injury during the Asia Cup 2023 super-4 match against Bangladesh.

Ashwin himself spoke about his potential inclusion in Team India’s white-ball squad for the upcoming marquee international tournament.

“I have been playing for the last 14-15 years for Team India. I have had my great moments. I have had my fair share of failures too. But I have tattooed Indian cricket close to my heart. If they require my service even tomorrow, I will be ready and will give my 100 per cent,” said Ashwin in a video on his YouTube Channel.
