Every year in the Indian T20 League players come with spectacular performances in the tournament. Be it individually or as a team, there always is something that makes the season stand out. The batters, as their reputation is established, have a lot of pressure to perform consecutively. Here is a list of batters with the most scores in a season in the history of the tournament.

David Warner- 692 runs, 2019

David Warner is one of the most successful batters in the history of the tournament. His figures in the tournament are a proof of that. 2019 was one of the best years for him, as he won the orange cap that year. This score includes one century and as many as eight half-centuries in the tournament. He also holds many other records including most fifties in the tournament.

Michael Hussey- 733 runs, 2013

Chennai players are known to be consistent. Michael Hussey in 2013 was the orange cap winner for them as he scored 733 runs including seven half-centuries in the 17 matches that he played. He did not have the most impressive strike rate, as it was even below 130. This makes it clear that he had the role of the anchor in the season.

Chris Gayle- 733 runs, 2012

The Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, was sure to be included in this list as he is one of the most successful batters in the T20 format. In his second season for the Bangalore team, Gayle scored 733 runs in the 14 matches that he played. He too won the orange cap that season. He scored eight half-centuries with a single century throughout the season. Gayle also had an average of over 61 in the season.

Kane Williamson- 735 runs, 2018

Kane Williamson is a very important player for the Hyderabad team. He scores the bulk of runs for them every season, and 2018 was a similar case. In the 17 games that he played, he scored 735 runs including eight half-centuries. Williamson is not the kind of player who hits big centuries in T20 games, instead, he scores consistently in every match.

Virat Kohli- 973 runs, 2016

The year 2016 was one of the best years for the former Indian captain as he was at the peak of his career. In the year he scored four centuries and seven half-centuries from the 973 runs he scored in 16 games. He also had a great partnership of over 200 runs with AB de Villiers in one of the matches. Nobody has come close to beating this massive record set by him.
