MS Dhoni will become the first cricketer to earn more than Rs 150 crore in the Indian Premier League. The wicket-keeper is prepared for one more season leading CSK.

Dhoni, who already tops the table with a salary of over Rs 137 crore, is now set to achieve another feat in his IPL career. CSK's skipper will breach the 150 core-mark.

MS Dhoni was the most expensive pick in the inaugural IPL auction and got Rs 18 crores in salaries in the first three seasons. In 2014 and 2015, Dhoni grossed over Rs 10 crore each year.

After moving to Rising Pune Supergiant as CSK was suspended, the veteran earned Rs 12.5 crore for 2016 and 2017. Ahead of IPL 2018 mega-auction, the officials increased the retention amount, and Chennai paid Rs 15 crore to their skipper.

The wicket-keeper batsman has earned Rs 45 crore since Chennai’s comeback in the league after the suspension. Admitting there will be no mega-auction for IPL 2021, Dhoni will be paid the same amount of Rs 15 crore for the season.

Dhoni has a considerable lead over Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

MS Dhoni holds a significant lead over MI captain Rohit Sharma and RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Both the batsmen are currently placed at the second and third spots, respectively. Rohit Sharma has so far received around Rs 131 crore. On the other end, Virat Kohli, the highest-paid Indian player, has also drawn a salary of over 126 crores.

Sharma, who is paid Rs 15 crore by Mumbai Indians, will breach the 146 crore-mark in the upcoming season. Both Virat and Rohit will need two more seasons to cross the 150-crore mark. Other IPL stars like Suresh Raina and AB de Villiers will also join an elite list to reach the 100 crore-mark in the 14th season.
