The Indian government is commemorating this momentous day of India's 75th year of Independence with 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' with Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging people to change their DP to the tricolour. Indians have responded to this request by changing their DPs to 'tiranga.'
MS Dhoni also changed it to Indian tricolour to show appreciation for his country. MSD's display picture also has the slogan, "I am blessed to be a Bhartiya." Captain Cool's deed was well received by social media users, who showered him with love and respect.
Despite having 39.1 million Instagram followers, former India captain MS Dhoni is not particularly active on social media. According to reports, the legend logged onto his Instagram account after nearly two years to change his display picture to a tricolour to commemorate India's 75th year of independence.

Dhoni is recognised for his love of the Indian army, and he has the honorary title of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army in addition to his triumphs on the cricket field. The 41-year-old served in the Territorial Army in Kashmir for 15 days after his final appearance for Team India in the 2019 World Cup.
Dhoni, widely considered one of the best leaders in cricket history, is the only captain to have won all three ICC trophies in limited-overs formats: the ODI World Cup (2011), the T20 World Cup (2007), and the Champions Trophy (2013). He represented India in 350 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), 98 Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is), and 90 Test matches since making his international debut against Bangladesh in 2004.
Dhoni retired from international cricket in August 2020 and has since been playing in the Indian T20 League for Chennai. While he stepped down as captain earlier this year, Dhoni took over again after Ravindra Jadeja vacated the position in the middle of the season. He also acted as a mentor to the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2021.
