CSK’s legendary captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will look to get on top of his game in the forthcoming fourteenth edition of the IPL. The 39-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman will have an entire IPL season to achieve certain milestones. Considering this could be his last season in the world’s top T20 tournament, MS Dhoni would indeed look to leave on the absolute high by fetching CSK another IPL title. Let’s take a look at the records MS Dhoni can achieve in the 14th season of the Indian Premier League.

150 dismissals as wicketkeeper in IPL

The former Indian skipper is just two dismissals away from becoming the first wicketkeeper to reach 150 dismissals in the IPL. The CSK skipper is currently leading the charts for most dismissals in the IPL. He is first on the list with 148 dismissals, whereas Dinesh Karthik is just behind him with 135 to his name.

7000 in the shortest format of the game

If Mahendra Singh Dhoni scores 179 runs in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League, he will have 7,000 runs in the shortest format of the game. The 39-year-old already has more than 4,600 runs in the IPL and around 1,600 runs in international T20 cricket. Dhoni has featured in 204 IPL matches so far in his career. However, the previous IPL season was not the best for the former India captain as he could just score 200 runs from 14 games. Chennai Super Kings finished at the bottom of the table for the first time in the history of IPL. MS Dhoni will not just look to accomplish these records but will also try to win the IPL trophy for Chennai.

200 Sixes

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has always been acknowledged for his hitting prowess. The wicketkeeper-batsman has developed and went on to become one of the greatest finishers of the game. MS Dhoni is just 14 sixes away from becoming the first player to reach the significant milestone of 200 sixes for his franchise in the IPL. The former Indian cricketer would like to accomplish this record, if not for himself, definitely for his team. With this huge achievement, MS Dhoni can also go past AB De Villiers to hit the most number of sixes in IPL.
