Former Indian batsman Suresh Raina praised MS Dhoni and stated that he always knew how to get the best out of him. Raina has always been an integral part of the Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings. The 34-year-old has the ability to accelerate and score crucial runs whenever needed. Apart from being a good batsman, Suresh Raina is a brilliant fielder. The Uttar Pradesh-born was team India’s designated finisher along with former India captain MS Dhoni.

I have always worked hard to win my spot in Team India: Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina had made his international debut on 30th July 2005 against Sri Lanka. On the other hand, MS Dhoni made his debut against Bangladesh in the year 2004. Over the years, the duo has developed a great bonding due to trust and respect for each other. When MS Dhoni was named Team India’s all-format captain, he made one thing very clear that he wanted good fielders in the team. This is the reason why Suresh Raina was one of the critical members of the Indian team under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Suresh Raina has also been influential in CSK’s dominance for almost 10 years. Often coming to bat at number three, the left-handed batsman would take the games away from the opposition. Suresh Raina has a fantastic record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) despite missing the 2020 edition. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star batsman performed well in IPL 2021. After a slow start this year, Raina managed to score 123 runs in 7 games for CSK. However, the league was suspended last month due to rising COVID-19 cases in India.

Now, since the BCCI has declared that IPL 2021 will resume in UAE, Raina will look to build on his phenomenal record. The southpaw will help guide Chennai Super Kings to another title. Suresh Raina has played 200 IPL games and scored 5,491 runs, including one century and 39 fifties. In the 14th IPL season, Chennai Super Kings has so far won 5 games out of 7 outings. The Yellow Army is currently placed at the 2nd spot in the points table. MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will hope to perform well in the remaining games of the tournament.
