Chennai is one of the most loved and followed franchisees in the Indian T20 League. Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the team has seen tremendous success. In 2021, the team won their fourth title by beating Kolkata in the final. However, the ongoing 2022 season of the Indian T20 League has not been the best for the team. They already are out of the race to the playoffs, with one game left for them this season.
Amidst a poor run this season, Chennai still has the support of its loyal fans. A fan recently sent the team a letter showing the team their support. "O captain, our captain, there shall never be someone like you," read a line from the letter. In response, the skipper, MS Dhoni, signed the letter and wrote, "Well Written. Best Wishes".
The team then framed the letter and posted the pictures on their official Twitter handle. "Words from the yellow love framed for life & signed with love!" read the caption of the post.

In the meantime, the 15th season of the tournament has not been the best for the four-time champions. They have lost nine of their 13 games and stand ninth in the points table. The team was eliminated from contention for the playoffs after losing to arch-rival Mumbai on May 12th. They will play their last game of the season against Rajasthan on the 20th of May. They will play this game to resurrect themselves from the terrible season.
Speaking of MS Dhoni, he has had a decent season so far. He has given a few cameos for the team, which has given the fans some excitement this season. He stood down as team captain before the season, and Ravindra Jadeja was named as his successor. However, the team lost six of its eight games under his captaincy. As a result, he stepped down as the captain and MS Dhoni was reappointed as the man in charge.
