The Indian T20 League 2022 concluded a few days back with Gujarat lifting their maiden title in their debut season. With the two-month-long league having been done and dusted, players are now enjoying some free time. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also has taken a break from the game as he is set to miss the series against South Africa.

In his spare time, he opted to visit schools to relive his childhood memories. Sharma posted a photo on Instagram from a classroom with the caption "Back to School."

Sharma's followers were overjoyed to see him having fun and unwinding after a difficult assignment with Mumbai. Meanwhile, his franchise made a sarcastic response to the viral post. Mumbai asked Rohit if he was a teacher or a student at the school. "As a teacher or as a student?" they commented on the post.

In terms of the skipper's performance in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League, Sharma had a disappointing season. While the Mumbai-based franchise finished at the bottom of the points table, Sharma managed only 268 runs in 14 games. The opener also failed to score a single half-century in this edition. Rohit's highest score was 48.

When he returns to play, the Mumbai-born cricketer will aim to overcome this slump. He will have enough time to work on things as he will not be playing in the T20I series against South Africa. He will go directly to England for the rescheduled fifth Test from last year, as well as a three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series.

Rohit will have a huge responsibility on his shoulder as the Indian fans would want to see their side win the Test series against England. Following the Test match, the Indian captain will look to develop the backbone of the 20-20 World Cup side. The major event is set to be played in Australia later this year. The Indian team has a lot of white-ball games scheduled ahead of the tournament.
