Afghanistan's star batter Najibullah Zadran recently revealed that Virat Kohli is his favourite Indian player. His fitness is one of the reasons for him being Zadran's favourite player.
"My favourite Indian player is always Virat Kohli due to consistency and fitness," he was quoted as saying to Crictracker.
Virat Kohli had taken a break from cricket during India's five-match T20I series against South Africa. However, he has returned to the team for the rescheduled Test match against England. Notably, this is the postponed match from India's tour of England from 2021. The Indian team lead the five-match series 2-1.
The 33-year-old batter has faced a lot of trouble with his form recently. He has not been able to get the runs consistently, which has led to him facing a lot of criticism. In addition, he has been waiting for his 71st international century. His last century came against Bangladesh more than two and a half years ago.
The recently concluded Indian T20 League 2022 was not the best for Virat Kohli either. The former Bangalore captain scored 341 runs in 16 innings, including two half-centuries. All eyes will now be on him in the Test match against England.
On the other hand, Najibullah Zadran has become a very important batter for the Afghanistan white-ball team. His recent exploits in a T20I encounter against Zimbabwe were well recognized. He scored 44 runs in 25 balls to take his team through the line. He scored 26 runs in the 17th over of the second innings, which completely changed the match. The 29-year-old then hit a six in the 20th over to seal the deal for the Afghanistan team.
