The controversial dismissal of Shubman Gill during the ongoing WTC 2023 final between India and Australia is spreading like a wildfire in the cricketing fraternity. A lot of individuals in the cricketing fraternity including the former cricketers and experts of the game as well have called out the tv umpire for a poor decision at a very crucial juncture in the match.

Meanwhile, Gill himself took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to express his displeasure over tv umpire’s controversial decision. Gill posted the image of Cameron Green catching the ball captioning it with some cryptic emojis.

Subsequently, a section of the Indian cricket fans took it as an opportunity to troll the tv umpire Richard Kettleborough brutally. Fans rushed to the reply section of Gill’s tweet and called out the third umpire Richard Kettleborough for his decision that went against India and Shubman Gill.

Talking about the action of the match, India had been given a massive target of 444 runs in the fourth innings. Australia declared their second innings on the score of 270 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

While chasing the target, India had scored 164 runs for the loss of three wickets at the end of the fourth day’s play. The veteran batters, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were there in the middle at the time of stumps on the individual scores of 44 and 20 runs respectively.

Other than these two, it was the skipper Rohit Sharma who scored 44 runs in the fourth innings run chase for India.  Speaking of Aussie bowlers, Pat Cummins, Scott Boland, and Nathan Lyon scalped one wicket each in the second innings at the end of the fourth day for Australia.

India now need 280 more runs to win the match and become the World Test Champions from the current situation in the match whereas Australia require 7 more wickets to win.
