Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja hilariously said that the number eight batting position is too early for him. Jadeja said it in a response to a tweet. He has been out of action after the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur after he sustained a right forearm injury, which meant he missed out on the three-match Test and ODI series in South Africa.
The left-hander has still hasn't recovered from the injury and hasn't been included in the limited-overs series against visiting West Indies, starting from February 6. His recovery and return is still awaited.
Whilst the Saurashtra all-rounder is recovering, Star Sports Tamil took to Twitter and asked the Chennai Super Kings fans to make their own playing XI. In that tweet, Jadeja was slotted at number eight among others. The 33-year-old replied saying that he should be slotted in at No. 11.
"No 8 too early for me ! Put me @ 11," the Saurashtra all-rounder tweeted.
No 8 too early for me ! Put me @ 11🤣🤣

Ravindra Jadeja was retained by Chennai Super Kings for 16 crores INR
Ravindra Jadeja was retained by the franchise for a sum of INR 16 crores and he was the first retention in the team. He has been playing for the tam since 2012. Jadeja started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals in 2008 but shifted to now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011.
The left-hander has played 200 games in the league and has amassed 2386 runs and has picked 127 wickets with his left-arm spinner. He is expected to regain fitness by the upcoming edition of the IPL, which is expected start in the last week of March and run until May end. The league this year will feature 10 teams after the addition of Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises.
