Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings locked horns in the 17th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It was a last-ball thriller that went till the last ball of the 20th over to decide the winner of a nail-biting clash.

Meanwhile, CSK skipper and legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni also attracted the headlines for his quick knock of 32 runs off just 17 balls with a boundary and three sixes to his name. Although he failed to finish things in favour of the hosts and couldn’t clear the boundary when they need five runs off the last ball.

But the visitors’ skipper Sanju Samson was all in praise for the former Indian skipper after the end of the nerve-jangler against Chennai Super Kings.

"You have to respect that guy and know what he can do in the middle. Everyone was involved and the match is not over till the last ball. I do a lot of planning, research, and sit down with the data team but a lot of calls have to be taken inside the ground looking at who is bowling well at what point. I only played two balls, but I'm drained as if I have scored a hundred. A lot of thoughts are going around,” said Samson during the post-match presentation after a close win against CSK.

On a question about any plans for MS Dhoni, the RR skipper replied, “Nothing. Nothing works, no data, nothing.”

Notably, Rajasthan Royals have now reached the top spot in the points table of the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League. They have now three wins out of the four matches they played so far. On the other hand, CSK have fallen to the fifth spot with a second loss in the fourth match.
