BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has clearly mentioned that it is not possible to conduct a domestic pink-ball match for the women cricketers in August. He further stated that domestic matches in August are tough to conduct because of the monsoon. The forthcoming historic Test match is going to be a part of India Women's multi-format tour of Australia. The Test match is going to take place from September 30 to October 3.

The upcoming pink ball game will be the second Day-Night Test in the history of women's cricket

Earlier, former India cricketer Shantha Rangaswamy requested a two-day game involving four teams before the squad leaves for the Australian tour. She reckoned that the BCCI should have used the Women's Challengers Trophy window to stage the practice matches. However, the request was denied by the officials.

The Indian women's cricket team has never played a pink-ball match. Thus, it has been anticipated that the team might face issues when they come against that ball in Perth. It will be challenging for team India to tackle the fearsome bowling attack of the Australian team. Team India will play three ODIs starting 19 September. These games will take place before the day-night Test, and there will also be a 14-day quarantine upon their arrival in Australia.

Altogether, the forthcoming pink ball game will be the second Day-Night Test in the history of women's cricket. The first match had been played in 2017 between England and Australia in Sydney. The forthcoming pink-ball Test match will be team India's first in Australia since the Adelaide Test in 2006. Australia and India have so far faced each other in 9 Test matches. In those games, Australia has won 4 of them, and the other five have resulted in a draw.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team pulled off an outstanding draw against England last month in Bristol. The tail-enders were brilliant with the bat on the last day and managed to pull off a draw.
