CSK has affirmed that there has been no request made by English all-rounder Moeen Ali to remove any logo from his jersey. Numerous reports on Sunday argued that England all-rounder Moeen Ali has appealed his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings to remove the logo of an alcohol brand from his jersey. The reports claimed Moeen Ali, who doesn't drink or promote alcohol, had asked for the logo of SNJ 10000 to be taken off from his jersey.

SNJ 10000 is a beer brand of the Chennai-based SNJ Distilleries, one of Chennai Super Kings' sponsors this season. CSK had recently unveiled their new jersey for the forthcoming IPL season. The new jersey also features a camouflage patch as a tribute to the Indian armed forces. Earlier, the reports stated that CSK had approved Moeen Ali's request of removing the logo. However, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Vishwanathan later declared that the England all-rounder made no such request.

MS Dhoni is a great leader: Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali, who was part of the RCB squad last season, was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the player auction earlier this year. The 33-year-old was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 7 crore. He will be donning the CSK jersey for the first time in the tournament. He is also anticipated to play a crucial role for the franchise in the new season.

The England all-rounder has so far featured in 19 matches in his IPL career. He has amassed 309 runs in those matches at an average of 20.60 and an impressive strike rate of 158.46. Ali also has 10 scalps to his name in 19 games. It remains to be seen how skipper MS Dhoni uses the seasoned all-rounder in the 14th edition of the league. Moeen had recently lavished praise on MS Dhoni and stated that the skipper is a great leader. He added that Dhoni helps improve his players with his leadership qualities.
