The England cricket team recently lost 3-2 to India in the five-match T20I series held last month. The top-notch teams fought hard to set up a series decider which India eventually won. While India and England may be the best white-ball teams at the moment, according to veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali, no team can be written off as contenders to win the T20 World Cup

The England outfit is likely to be one of the leading competitors in the T20 World Cup. However, Moeen Ali admitted that T20 is a volatile format. Thus, it is essential for the Eoin Morgan-led team to continue nailing its skills and not worry about the results.

Both India and England played a very high-quality five-match T20 international series last month. While England won two of the first three T20I games, Virat Kohli’s men bounced back brilliantly to win the last two must-win games to take the rubber 3-2. The all-rounder also spoke on the significance of playing a high-quality team like India in the conditions where the T20 World Cup is going to take place. He said that the series helped England learn about their own strength and the opposition’s weakness and vice-versa for the home team.

Moeen Ali to represent the Men in Yellow in IPL 2021

Moeen Ali, who was part of the RCB squad last season, was bought by Chennai Super Kings in the player auction earlier this year. The 33-year-old was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 7 crore. He will be donning the CSK jersey for the first time in the tournament. He is also anticipated to play a crucial role for the franchise in the new season.

The England all-rounder has so far featured in 19 matches in his IPL career. He has amassed 309 runs in those matches at an average of 20.60 and an impressive strike rate of 158.46. Moeen Ali also has ten scalps to his name in 19 games. It remains to be seen how skipper MS Dhoni uses the seasoned all-rounder in the 14th edition of the league. Moeen had recently lavished praise on MS Dhoni and stated that the CSK skipper is a great leader. He further added that Dhoni helps improve his players with his leadership qualities.
