India are set to tour South Africa for three Tests and as many ODIs. Ahead of such an important tour, the Indian team was dealt with a massive blow as Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the series owing to injury. Now if the latest reports are to be believed, Virat Kohli is likely to skip the ODIs. Kohli has asked the BCCI for a break from the series as he wants to go on a vacation to celebrate his daughter's first birthday.

Twitter however is not impressed by Kohli's call. They feel that Kohli is skipping the series as he is not happy with BCCI's decision to strip him of the ODI captaincy. Notably, BCCI removed Kohli as ODI captain and handed over the reins to Rohit Sharma. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly later confirmed that he personally requested Kohli to not give up T20I captaincy which he didn't agree after which BCCI stripped him off ODI captaincy, as they felt that two different skippers in limited-overs format was not the right way to go.

Twitter felt it was wrong on Kohli's behalf to give the ODIs a skip.

Meamwhile, India can be without Rohit Sharma as well for the ODIs. The batter has been ruled out of the Tests after picking up an injury ahead of the tour and his participation in the ODIs is also in doubt.
