Former Indian skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli has come up with a big revelation on what he went through after his maiden century in the T20I during the Asia Cup 2022. Kohli scored this century in the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan. Notably, it was also an exceptional knock for him as this century ended a three-year drought of centuries for him in international cricket.
Recently, Kohli was in an interview with one of the programs of Puma where he shared his feeling about the moment when he scored his first-ever T20I century. The 34-year-old also revealed some truth bombs on the emotional impacts of that century on him.
“The ball before I got to the 100, is the time I felt, oh I am on 94, I could probably get this. And the next ball went for six. But the thing is that as soon as I got the 100, I laughed so hard. I was like, 'main iske liye ro raha tha 2 saal se? (Was I cribbing about this for 2 years?),” said Kohli.
"Like just for this 2 seconds, I let myself go through that? That moment happened, it ended. The next day, the sun goes up again. It wasn't going to be forever. It's not like I scored this 100, and I will live in this moment for the rest of my life. It was so funny, I laughed so hard. I was like, this is all that it,” he added later.
Later, he also revealed how he felt when he called his wife Anushka Sharma sometime after this moment of his century.
“Not in that moment, but when I spoke to Anushka... (there were tears),” revealed the veteran of 75 international centuries.
