As the stage is set for the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023, the Indian Cricket Board has started final preparations for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony for the once-in-a-four-year cricket spectacle will occur on October 4 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian Cricket Board has contacted various Bollywood superstars to organise a grand opening ceremony.

According to news reports, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, actress Tamanna Bhatia, legendary singer Asha Bhosle, melodious Arjit Singh, Golden Girl Shreya Ghoshal, and 2011 World Cup song composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan are set to perform in the opening ceremony. This year's World Cup song composer, Pritam, will also make an appearance.

Captains of all 10 participating countries will also attend the opening ceremony. Fans will expect the Indian Cricket Board to give a memorable welcome to all the participants and fans. Other board officials and some former World Cup winners are also invited to the ceremony. It's worth noting that the ceremony will start at 7 p.m. IST and will be televised by official broadcasters.

Who can join the opening ceremony from the stadium?

So, according to the Indian Cricket Board and official ticketing partners, those who have a ticket for the first game will be allowed to witness the opening ceremony from the ground. It's worth noting that the first match will be played on October 5 between defending champions England and New Zealand at the same venue. However, the opening ceremony will take place a day before.

It's worth noting that India will be looking to continue the trend of winning the World Cup at home. The team will look to get their third trophy as they start their campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. India will also play a game at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14 against arch-rivals Pakistan.
