The much-anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to be played this year later in the month of October and November. The marquee international tournament is scheduled to be played entirely in India. Meanwhile, the tentative date for the start of the tournament if everything goes right is the 5th of October.
Amidst all this, the fans are also eager and excited to watch the mother of all battles the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan. Notably, the arch-rivals haven’t faced each other at the Indian backyard since they played against each other last time in 2016.
India and Pakistan likely to lock horns at Narendra Modi Stadium
Apart from all this, confirmed and reliable media sources have learned that the Indian Cricket Board is set to host this high-octane clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Notably, the recently made ground in Ahmedabad is currently the biggest stadium in the world having a seating capacity of almost 1,00,000 spectators.
Speaking of the structure of the tournament, there will be 48 matches to be played in a period of 46 days. The venues that have been shortlisted for the games of the 13th edition of the World Cup are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharmshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai alongside Ahmedabad for the summit clash of the tournament.
Other than that, there are also a couple of media reports that have learned that Pakistan could play their maximum matches of the tournament in Bengaluru and Chennai citing security concerns. On the other side, the Indian Cricket Board has also kept Eden Gardens of Kolkata in consideration.
