The South African team is back in Mumbai and this time their opponents in the ODI World Cup 2023 are Bangladesh. The early moment of the game came courtesy of Bangladeshi pace bowler Shoriful Islam. The left-arm pacer made his best impression of the ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’ dance step famous due to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Shakib Al Hasan was back in the team after missing the game against India last week. The 36-year-old came in place of Towhid Hridoy. Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to make first use of the pitch once again. Lizaad Williams replaced Lungi Ngidi with Temba Bavuma still unfit to make his return to the side.

Bangladesh comes into the game needing a win to keep their chances alive in ODI World Cup 2023. In the four games played so far, Bangladesh has just won a single game that too at the start of the tournament versus Afghanistan.

Hrithik Roshan-inspired celebration by Shoriful Islam –

Reeza Hendricks had scored an amazing half-century in the previous game versus England. The right-handed opener got off to a good start once and was batting on 12. That’s when Shakib Al Hasan got Shoriful Islam into the attack to replace Mustafizur Rahman in the seventh over.

The very first ball of the new over saw immediate success for the Bangladeshi side. Reeza Hendricks saw the ball swing into him as he was bowled through the gates. This gave the Bangladeshis their first wicket and Shoriful Islam then did the ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’ dance just like Hrithik Roshan.

Rassie Van Der Dussen, yet another half-centurion from the previous game was out for 1. The tall South –African was caught right in front of his wicket to give the animated Mehidy Hasan Miraz his first wicket.

Quinton De Kock and Aiden Markram then combined forces as the duo began the repair work. The two batters had added 56 runs for the 3rd wicket when drinks came onto the field at the end of the 16th over.

Playing in his 150th ODI game for South Africa, Quinton De Kock continued his good form with the bat. The South African wicket-keeper scored his 31st ODI half-century in what is his last ODI World Cup for his national side.
