In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, there have been a lot of players who have done extremely well. There have been some players who made their World Cup debuts and are yet to play in the IPL. After the ongoing tournament, the IPL 2024 player auction might take place next month. Soon after the showpiece event, the franchises might release the player retention and released list.

The left-handed opening batter has made a record of scoring the most runs as an Under-25 batter in an ODI World Cup. With this, he went past Sachin Tendulkar (1996) and Babar Azam (2019). Meanwhile, the Bangalore-origin player has amassed 565 runs and is competing with a senior pro from South Africa, Quinton de Kock, who is retiring from ODI cricket after the tournament. Teams might pick the New Zealand international during the auction.

Having the worst start to the ongoing 2023 WC with the ball, the leggie still managed to break the records of highest wickets by an Aussie spinner in World Cups. Brad Hogg (2007) and Late Shane Warne (1999) had the most wickets during different wickets. Meanwhile, Zampa has 22 wickets so far and is set to add more during the semifinal against South Africa. Not to forget, he has played for now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Rajasthan Royals. It will be interesting to see if the Royals retain him.

The right-arm pacer from South Africa is playing his first World Cup and has made an impression immediately. Named as a replacement to injured Anrich Nortje, Coetzee has picked 18 wickets in just seven games and has broken the back of different batting line-ups. A fast bowler, who can click 150-plus is a gold dust in any T20 League.

The Afghanistan all-rounder impressed the fans with 353 runs in nine games, averaging 70.60 including 97 not out against a threatening bowling of South Africa. With the ball, he has seven wickets to his name. He has the ability to swing the new ball, which makes it a necessity for any team to make up their balance.

5. Dilshan Madushanka

The Lankan Lions, Sri Lanka had a horrific tournament with two wins in seven games. With this, they have officially missed a spot in the Champions Trophy 2025 to be played in Pakistan. Meanwhile, the left-arm pacer, playing his first World Cup, impressed the fans with his ability to move the new-ball. He has 21 wickets to his name in nine games
