Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has praised Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan for his bowling against England. The latter took three wickets against the defending champions, England on October 15. In the game, the holders won the toss and elected to bowl first. In reply, the Asian side amassed a competitive 284 all-out with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (80) taking down the English bowling at the top.
Apart from him Ikram Alikhil (58), Khan (23), and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (28) also contributed to the cause. Compared to their match against India, they scored 10 runs more. The Three Lions were expected to treat their opposition the same way India did. However, the Afghan bowlers were better prepared and didn't let the game drift. They bowled out England for 215 runs, winning the game by 69 runs.
After the game, the two-time World Title winner, Pathan said a player such as Rashid Khan can't be discounted.
"Revenge - it became Badlapur for Rashid in Delhi. It was the same team, it was a ground in England and he conceded a lot of runs there but he bowled amazingly well today. We were saying that he does not have a very good record in ODIs but you can never count out Rashid Khan."
"The rest of the bowlers did the main job. Rashid Khan didn't allow the pressure to be released at all and batted extremely well too but the real heroes today were Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. It's not that Rashid wasn't the hero but he played the hero's brother's role."

"The first batter he dismissed - Livingstone, he is such a dangerous batter that he can win the match on his own by playing big shots. The other two wickets, Adil Rashid's wicket and then the last wicket - Rashid Khan will himself say that the match was already in their hands by then."
