Australia created history in Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. The five-time world champions claimed the biggest win in the history of the ODI World Cup after beating Netherlands. With the win, Australia boosted their net run rate and climbed to fourth post in the points table. A collective team performance meant that Australia overcame Netherlands comfortably. Batters were the main reason behind Australia's win.

Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first on a good batting surface. After 4 overs, Australia was down tpo 28/1, losing Mitchell Marsh. It was the only blip in the match for Australia. What followed it was a big domination of Australia in the match. Every batter stepped up from there and helped Australia to register a mammoth total on the board. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne scored a fifty each for themselves. 

The star of the show was Glenn Maxwell, who played a sensational knock to create history in the World Cup. the right-handed batter scored the fastest ton in World Cup history, in just 40 balls, and helped Australia to get to a mammoth total. David Warner scored his 22nd ODI hundred and became instrumental in Australia's first innings total. 

Australian bowlers bundle out Netherlands batters for a double-digit score

Chasing a target of 400 runs, Netherlands was constantly under pressure due to the scoreboard pressure. It impacted their run chase big time, as their batters tried to go after the bowlers right from the start. In the process, Australian bowlers took wickets for fun one after the other. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers, who claimed 4 wickets with the ball. 

Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc were very good with the ball as well. Mitchell Marsh was asked to bowl as well, who claimed a couple of wickets for himself. As a result, Netherlands was dismissed under 100 runs. In the process, Australia registered a massive win of 309 runs, which is now the biggest margin of win by a team in the history of the World Cup.
