Cricket News: Fox Cricket names Jasprit Bumrah as the captain of their team on the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Australian-based media also excluded Rohit Sharma from their team.

Fox Cricket has picked their team for the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023. In their team of the tournament, they have a top order filled with prolific run scorers like Quinton De Kock, David Warner, and Rachin Ravindra. De Kock and Ravindra have been the second and third-highest run scorers in the tournament till now. Warner is right up there among the highest run scorers in the tournament. 

They got Virat Kohli at number 4, who is the highest run scorer of the tournament. At number 5, they got Azmatullah Omarzai, which is an interesting choice, given his All-round capabilities. At number 6, they picked Glenn Maxwell, who has been handy with the ball, and spectacular as a finisher in the tournament. At number 7, Fox Cricket named Ravindra Jadeja as the genuine All-rounder in their team. 

Their bowling attack looks good too. To lead the attack with the new ball, they got South African pacer, Marco Jansen. To complement him with the new ball would be Jasprit Bumrah, who would also bowl with the old ball. In the middle overs, Jadeja would share the responsibilities along with Adam Zampa. Dilshan Madushanka is picked as the pace bowler in the team. Mohammed Shami cuts the 12th man in the team.

In Fox Cricket's team of the tournament, Jasprit Bumrah is picked as the captain for the group stage. Bumrah is someone who has never captained India in an ODI. To pick him as the captain over someone like Virat Kohli, who is already in the team has not gone well with the fans. Fox Cricket made another blunder, like other Australian-based media outlets. 

They did not pick Rohit Sharma in the team. The Indian captain has been one of the best batters of the tournament and led India to 9 wins on a trot. Under Rohit, India is yet to lose a match, Yet, David Warner was picked ahead of Rohit, who has a lesser number of runs, lesser batting average, lesser batting strike rate, and lesser number of boundaries, as compared to Rohut in the tournament.
