South Africa climbed to number two in the table after their 149-run win over Bangladesh on Tuesday in Mumbai in the ODI World Cup 2023. Quinton De Kock and Heinrich Klaasen yet again showed their class with the bat to help South Africa post a massive 382-run score from their 50 overs.

Interestingly, this was the 4th time in five games that South Africa had posted over 300 during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. The 32-year-old Heinrich Klaasen has been in thick run-scoring form in the last two games for South Africa.

Quinton De Kock, who is playing his final ODI series before his retirement, was in full praise of his teammate. The 30-year-old, on Tuesday, scored his 3rd century of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 tournament and set a new record in the process.

South Africa had scored 399 versus England thanks to 108 runs from Klaasen. On Tuesday, the 32-year-old scored yet another 90 runs from just 49 balls with 2 fours and 8 sixes. Quinton de Kock was all praise for the 32-year-old at the post-game interaction.

De Kock said “He (Klaasen) has been truly amazing, I also need some of the juice that he is having. He has just been special, not just for us but for everyone around the world. He is really taking it by storm and I am very happy for him,"

Speaking about his own form, the left-handed batter seemed pleased and spoke about his happiness after winning the game. “To be honest, I am a bit more tired than satisfied (after a spectacular knock), I think we all played really well and everyone did their part and it was nice to get those two points on the board. Not just too sure I was a little nervous this morning, but it was a great day and I had a bit of fun and it's great to get another 2 points”

Mahmudullah scored 111 runs from 111 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes to give Bangladesh some respectability. Aiden Markram led his side to their 2nd win of the tournament with Temba Bavuma still out due to fitness issues.

When asked about Bavuma, Markram said that the next game versus Pakistan in Chennai could see the skipper return. A win against Pakistan in their next game on Friday will push South Africa closer to a place in the final four.
