In the ongoing Sri Lanka vs Australia match in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, the game was stopped due to two reasons. First was the rain delay after the Lankan Lions had lost three wickets. Despite the rain delay, the match wasn't reduced from the 50-over affair. After losing the first wicket at 125, the team lost two quick wickets.
After the rain break, the team lost six quick wickets and were looking to at least play out their quota of overs. However, during the end stages of the first innings, one of the hoardings fell off to stop the game for a while. The hoarding fell towards the area where quite a few spectators were sitting. As it is a non-India game, the stands aren't full of spectators.

Sri Lanka bowled out for 209 against Australia
Meanwhile, talking about the game, the 1996 winners won the toss and elected to bat first. Openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera put together 125 runs in just the 22nd over. After the fall of the former, the batting again failed to deliver. Stand-in skipper Kusal Mendis had a rare failure in the tournament. Meanwhile, just like the game against Pakistan, the team failed to reach where they looked like getting at one stage.
From 125/0, the Blue Brigade was bowled out for 209 runs. Adam Zampa, who has been out of form since getting belted against South Africa in the five-match ODI series last month, took four wickets. Apart from him, Mitchell Starc and skipper Pat Cummins took two wickets each. Glenn Maxwell took one. In reply, Australia has lost two wickets for Dilshan Madushanka has bowled two maidens and took as many wickets. At the time of writing, the Yellow Brigade has amassed 35/2 in 4.5 overs.
