WATCH: Team India celebrates Diwali ahead of match against Netherlands

Cricket News: Ahead of their last group stage match of the tournament against Netherlands, the Indian team celebrated Diwali along with family members, coaching, and support staff.

The Indian team brightly celebrated the festival of lights. On the occasion of Diwali, the Indian players wore traditional Indian outfits and celebrated the festival with joy all around in their team hotel in Bengaluru. India is set to play the Netherlands in their last match of the group stage of the tournament in M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru before they move to Mumbai to face New Zealand in the semifinal. 

The Indian players gathered in the team hotel with their family members, friends, and other close relatives to celebrate the festivals. Some of the players were seen with their wives. The likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, and Shardul Thakur were seen with their better halves in the event. The Indian captain Rohut Sharma was seen with his wife and daughter. 

Some of the youngsters in the team like Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, who also happen to be best friends, enjoyed the festival by pulling each other's legs. The celebration was filled with joy. The likes of Suryakummar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and others were seen along with the support staff of India. Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer and Prasidh Krishna were seen in the hall as well. 

Beautiful decoration in the team hotel 

For the event, the hotel was decorated beautifully. There were flowers which were used to decorate the hall. There were unique lamps which were used to light up the hall. It caught the attention of everyone, as the festival is about lights. The players welcomed the priests and introduced the family members, friends, and relatives to each other. It was a good day away from cricket for the players. 

The food items for the players were filled with a different menu. The players chose to have limited food due to their obvious routines. Pacers like Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, bumrah, and Prasidh were seen discussing something. KL Rahul and Rahul Dravid were seen greeting other members of the squad. At last, the members in the hall posed together for a group photo, which turned out to be the highlight of the day.
