Current Indian skipper and veteran batter, Rohit Sharma has completed 16 years in international cricket. Rohit has been a part of the Indian team on several major occasions in his illustrious career so far. He has been part of the playing XI when India lifted the title in major international tournaments including the 20-20 World Cup 2007 and the Champions Trophy 2013.
Interestingly, India won the Champions Trophy 2013 on the same day, the 23rd of June on which Rohit Sharma made his international debut in 2007 against Ireland in the Belfast ODI. It was the time when Team India toured England and Ireland under the captaincy of former skipper and current head coach Rahul Dravid.
Coming back to Rohit Sharma, he took over the captaincy of the national side of India almost one and a half years back when former skipper Virat Kohli stepped down from the role.

Recently, the 36-year-old Indian skipper was in action with Team India in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. Although he couldnโt live up to his stature in the WTC 2023 final but still a lot of former cricketers and experts of the game want him to continue as the skipper of the national side till the ODI World Cup 2023 which is to be played in India only.
Apart from that, Rohit will be in action with Team India in their upcoming tour of West Indies for two Tests, three ODIs, and five ODIs.
