In the all-important Qualifier 2 of the Caribbean Premier League 2022, Jamaica Tallawahs locked horns with Saint Lucia Kings. The Tallawahs put on an incredible all-rounded show to take a 33-run victory. With this win, the Rovman Powell-led team has now qualified to play in the second Qualifier.

The Tallahwas were put in to bat first, but they lost two early wickets, putting the team in some trouble. Shamarh Brooks then tried to stabilize the innings for his team but did not get much support from the other end. He did, however, build an important 41-run partnership with Raymon Reifer.

The former was caught at deep midwicket by Joseph off David Wiese, denying him a half-century. Fabian Allen got a silver duck and became Wiese's second victim. In the 17th over, the wickets of Riefer, Imad Wasim, and Chris Green reduced the team to 115/8. Mohammad Nabi's unbeaten 31 off 15 balls, which included four sixes, helped the team reach 148/8 at the end of their 20 overs.

In the chase, St Lucia Kings got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets in the first seven overs. Mohammad Amir dismissed Johnson Charles, while Imad Wasim dismissed Niroshan Dickwella and Roston Chase.

Skipper Faf du Plessis got off to a good start, scoring 41 off 26 balls, but he couldn't last long as Fabian Allen cleaned him up. Kings kept losing wickets on a regular basis, which is why they were never in the chase.

Alzarri Joseph, the last man standing, scored 28 runs in 18 but received no help from the other end. The batters around him failed to reach double figures. St Lucia was eventually limited to 115 all-out, losing the match by 33 runs.

Nabi and Allen each took three wickets for Jamaica, while Amir and Wasim each took two. Nabi was awarded the man of the match for his all-rounded performance. With this victory, they have qualified for Qualifier Two, where they will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors on September 29.
