Andre Russell and Umesh Yadav guided Kolkata to a six-wicket win against Punjab. Put in to bat first, Punjab got off to a good start. They lost their captain, Mayank Agarwal, early on by an excellent delivery by Umesh Yadav. However, Bhanuka Rajapaksa carried forward the innings with a good cameo. He hit three sixes and three fours in his innings of 31 runs from nine balls. None of their other full-time batters could do much in the innings. Kagiso Rabada then added 25 fast runs to take their total to 137 all-out in the first innings.
Umesh Yadav had an excellent outing with the ball as he scalped a four-wicket haul. He conceded just 23 runs and registered his best bowling figures in the Indian T20 League. Tim Southee also bowled well to get two wickets in his spell. Andre Russell and Shivam Mavi also got one wicket each in the innings.
In the second innings, Kolkata did not have the best start. They lost Ajinkya Rahane in the second over, and wickets kept falling for them early on. Andre Russell then took on the responsibility as he was back to his original self. He hit the bowlers all over the park as he reached his half-century. Sam Billings gave him good support towards the end.
Rahul Chahar was excellent with the ball as he picked up three wickets, controlling the innings. No other bowler was as useful as they all were hit for runs. In the end, Russell hit two sixes to help Kolkata take the victory in the 15th over. He scored 70 off 31 balls. He hit two fours and eight huge sixes in his innings.

Andre Russell stole the show with this carnage but the Player of the Match Award should still go to Umesh Yadav for such a brilliant bowling spell. #KKRvPBKS
