Becoming the fourth-highest bid in the Indian T20 League mega auction thus far, Liam Livingstone will play for Punjab in 2022. The Punjab team bought Livingstone for a massive 11.5 crores at the start of day two of the auction. This is the third time that an Englishman has been paid over 10 crores in this auction.
There are mixed reactions from the fans regarding this purchase. While some think that the franchise overspent on Livingstone, others say it's a good buy. Livingstone was expected to get some high bids as was one of the hot buys going into the auction.
As many as five teams were interested in buying him, but Punjab got the better of them. Twitterati took this chance to support their team, or in some cases, mock them for paying a high price.
Liam Livingston sold to 11.50 crores to Punjab. Wow wow. I rate him but some buy that. #IPL2022MegaAuction

KKR and CSK was going for him and then Punjab and Gujarat Titans jumped on.
How had KKR managed if they would have bought him ?#IPLAuction | #IPLMegaAuction | #TATAIPLAuction | #TATAIPL
