In 2022, tension rose between the Cricket Boards of Pakistan and India regarding the next edition of the Asia Cup. The next Asia Cup is scheduled to take palace in Pakistan in 2023. But, Jay Shah said that team India will not visit Pakistan and the tournament will take place at a neutral venue. Hearing that, the former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja said that if things stand the same, then Pakistan will not visit India for the 50-over World Cup in 2023.

However, currently, Najam Sethi is the new PCB Chairman. During his tenure, Jay Shah surprised him by announcing all the schedules of Asian Cricket in 2023 and 2024. Najam Sethi was not happy as he shared his disappointment on Twitter. Now, both Boards are going to face off regarding that matter in the ACC Board meeting in Bahrain on 4 February 2023.

"For some time there hasn't been any ACC Board meeting” - Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman

Regarding this meeting, PCB chairman Najam Sethi said: "For some time there hasn't been any ACC Board meeting and there were a lot of decisions being made, and one of them we have challenged. Now the good news is that we managed to convince them to have their Board meeting and I will be attending it." In the press conference, reporters also asked him about Pakistan’s approach if India refuse to come for Asia Cup 2023.

Najam Sethi said: "We have to look at what we can do but we can't another case, but I can say that that case wasn't handled properly and I think we didn't give a good fight. But eventually, even judges said that if you look through the microscope this case is in favour of Pakistan but if you see this case with a telescope this is going in India's favour. So in nutshell, with all the nitty-gritty it's Pakistan's case, but then their stance was that it's the government which isn't allowing us ."

"All expected discussions and what the possible options are, I am keeping close to my chest for now. I don't want to hint at anything about what will be my possible stance there. Whatever the stance is, it will be according to the interests of Pakistan," Najam Sethi concluded.
