The fifth match of England's tour of Pakistan proved to be a thriller, with the game going down to the wire. The bowlers from both sides were on fire in the game, but in the end, it was the Pakistan bowlers that stole the show. The Men in Green recorded a six-run victory to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Winning the toss at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, England decided to bowl first, and the move worked out well for them. Their pacers were at the top of the game as they claimed two wickets within the powerplay and conceded just 43 runs. Mohammad Rizwan, on the other hand, held his ground to keep Pakistan in good shape.

Wickets kept tumbling for the hosts as only Rizwan could do well for them. The opening batter scored 63 runs in 46 balls, with two fours and three sixes, to keep the team's hopes alive. However, he did not get much support from other players as Ifthikar Ahmed, with 15 runs in 14 balls, was the next highest scorer.

Pakistan managed to set a reasonable target of 146 runs thanks to Rizwan's outstanding performance. For England, Mark Wood, with his spell of 4-0-20-3, was the pick of the bowlers. David Willey and Sam Curran also took two wickets, while Chris Woakes took one.

Pakistan defend a moderate total

Pakistan had a great start to their defence, with a few wickets within the powerplay. Despite losing three wickets in the first six overs, the three lions managed to score 42 runs. Dawid Malan (36 runs in 35 balls) tried to hold the ground for his team, but that did not last long. He was eventually dismissed at a score of 62 in the 12th over by Ifthikar Ahmed.

Moeen Ali then came in to bat and took control of the match. He scored a fighting half-century, but the team's batting lineup crumbled. With 14 runs required in the last four balls, Ali hit a six, but the team only managed one run after that. They were stranded at a score of 139/7, handing Pakistan a six-run win.
