Pakistani batter Khushdil Shah tied the knot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu city as reported by Daily Jang on Monday. Several current Pakistani cricketers including Mohammad Wasim junior, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Sahibzada Farhan attended his marriage ceremony.
Khushdil Shah and his bride were married in a small, low-key ceremony that was attended by loved ones. The internet is abuzz with photos of Khushdil Shah’s marriage and several photos are being shared on Twitter. However, it is not clear whom he married as photos of his wife were not shared.
Shah has played a single ODI for Pakistan against Zimbabwe in November 2020. He has played 12 T20Is for Pakistan since making his debut in November 2019 against Australia. Shah has made 164 runs at an average of 23.42 in T20Is. In the PSL 2021, he made 165 runs in 11 matches at an average of 41.25 and a strike rate of 137.50 while playing for Multan Sultans.
In September 2021, Shah was named in Pakistan’s 15-man squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2021 along with Asif Ali. They both were dropped from the team in April after a series of disappointing performances. However, they were picked to represent the team in the limited-overs series against New Zealand and England at home.
However, the home series against both these teams were cancelled due to security issues. The New Zealand team refused to play after a security threat was intercepted by New Zealand Cricket and the series was called off.
Before the start of the 20-20 World Cup, Pakistan made a few more changes to the squad. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman were named in the final 15-man squad. Shah was dropped from the squad and placed in the reserve players along with Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain.
