Pakistan Test cricketer Yasir Shah, who was accused of rape of a minor girl has been cleared from the charges. Earlier, an FIR was filed against Shah and his friend Farhan at Islamabad’s Shalimar police station. The victim was a 14-year-old girl and her aunt filed the FIR on December 2020. She has admitted that Shah’s name was included in the complaint due to a misrepresentation and he has nothing to do with the mentioned case.
“Yasir Shah has nothing to do with the alleged rape case,” police said.
“The victim admitted that Yasir Shah‘s name was included in the FIR due to misrepresentation,” according to a supplementary report prepared by the Shalimar police station.
The FIR alleged that Shah had threatened the victim as well as her aunt and asked them not to report the incident to police or any authorities. The complainant had also mentioned that Shah “proposed to buy her a flat and bear her expenses for the next 18 years” when she tried to contact the police in regards to this incident.
