Pakistan Test cricketer Yasir Shah, who was accused of rape of a minor girl has been cleared from the charges. Earlier, an FIR was filed against Shah and his friend Farhan at Islamabad’s Shalimar police station. The police mentioned that his name has been dropped after it was revealed that the complainant had mistakenly accused him.

The alleged incident was from August 2020. In the FIR, it was mentioned that Shah’s friend Farhan raped the minor girl at gunpoint and filmed the incident. He also threatened to make the video public if the incident is reported to the police. Shah was accused of helping his friend in this crime.

The victim was a 14-year-old girl and her aunt filed the FIR on December 2020. She has admitted that Shah’s name was included in the complaint due to a misrepresentation and he has nothing to do with the mentioned case.

The FIR alleged that Shah had threatened the victim as well as her aunt and asked them not to report the incident to police or any authorities. The complainant had also mentioned that Shah “proposed to buy her a flat and bear her expenses for the next 18 years” when she tried to contact the police in regards to this incident.

Both Shah and PCB have not made any comments on this issue. PCB had said that they were “gathering information at its end and will only offer a comment when in possession of complete facts.”
