Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan wicketkeeper, has stated that the entire nation feels excited for the Australia tour of Pakistan after 24 years.  In an interview, he reacted to the statements of Australian players, broadcasters, and former cricketers looking forward to the tour.

Australia will be touring Pakistan for a full bilateral series in March-April this year. The tour consists of three Tests, three ODIs, and a T20I. The Test matches are a part of the World Test Championship, and the ODI matches are a part of the World Super League.

In a conversation with PCB digital, Rizwan said, "I can feel ripples of excitement for Australia's tour of Pakistan." He further stated, "I have read some very positive remarks from the stakeholders in Australia about the tour to Pakistan. The entire nation of Pakistan is ready to welcome Australia for the historic tour after 24 years."

Player Relationships

He also mentioned that the relationship built between players in the various leagues will grow with this tour. He said, "Both nations share a strong connection. Australian cricketers like Usman Khawaja participate in the HBL PSL, and our players (Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Hasnain) were recently featured in the KFC Big Bash League 2021-22. This further strengthens the bond between the two countries.

"Matthew Hayden, who was the batting consultant of Pakistan cricket team for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021, passionately shared his views about Pakistan. Similarly, the love and admiration in Justin Langer, head coach of Australia, eyes were prominent for Pakistan when I met him at the semi-final of the global event in Dubai," Rizwan added.

Rizwan concluded by commenting on the intensity of the series saying that Australia will be confident having won the Ashes series comfortably. "Australia has recently won the Ashes and they are a strong side, but we have also had a tremendous year and have shined brightly across all formats. These two teams make the perfect recipe for a thrilling and exciting series," he further said.
