Pakistan are all set to tour Bangladesh for an all-format series right after finishing the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. The global event finishes on November 14, and Pakistan are due to depart on November 15. The confirmation of the series was given by Nizamuddin Chowdhury Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)’s Chief Executive officer (CEO).

This is the first time since 2015 that Pakistan will tour Bangladesh in all formats. The BCB and the PCB are yet to finalize the matches for each format. But early hints indicate that both teams are eager to focus on the ODI and Test formats more. It is a well-documented fact both Pakistan as well as Bangladesh have featured in the shortest format more this year, owing to the scheduled T20 World Cup.

The BCB CEO has also confirmed prioritizing on playing Tests more will be the key point. While Pakistan have opened their World Test Championship (WTC) cycle by playing against West Indies, Bangladesh are yet to start their new WTC cycle for the year 2021-23.

“The Pakistan series will happen right after the World Cup. The cricket operations department is in talks with the Pakistan board to finalize the details. All formats will be included, there will be more ODIs and Tests,” the BCB CEO told the local media on Monday, reported Cricket Pakistan.

The hosts have some pleasant memories of their series against Pakistan in 2015 as they managed to win the ODI series 3-0 and as well as win the sole T20I. Only the Test series didn’t go in their favour.

Early reports reveal that three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Tests will be played between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
