Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024) has kicked off with the inaugural match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, February 17. However, the league is facing a huge backlash and that is from none other than the Pakistan cricket fans only.

The fans looked very unhappy and frustrated with the association of the Pakistan Super League with the famous American food chain company KFC. The popular company has been brought on board by the Pakistan Cricket Board as the official snacks partner of the PSL 2024.

However, the Pakistan cricket fans cleared their stance against this decision of PCB to associate with an American company; it is because of the full support for Israel from America in their current forced attacks on Palestinian people, especially in Gaza.

“Boycott PSL for the children and people of Gaza. Shamefully they are announcing their sponsor, who is the killer of our people. Everyone should make sure that they neither buy PSL tickets nor watch the Match,” wrote a fan on X (formerly Twitter).

“When a player puts the flag of Palestine on their bat, they deduct his match fees and drop him from future matches, but you have consciously taken sponsorship from KFC, this way they can weaken our faith,” wrote another fan.

A lot of fans also came up with a lot of critical remarks for PCB in their tweets and social media posts while urging everyone to boycott the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Talking about cricket, Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars are in action in the inaugural match of the tournament at the time of filling this copy. Islamabad has scored 118 runs for the loss of 2 wickets while chasing the target of 196 runs.

Earlier in the first innings, Lahore Qalandars posted a total of 195 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
