'Pappu can't bat sala' - Fans slam KL Rahul after his failure against Bangladesh in second ODI

On 7 December 2022, team India locked horns with Bangladesh for the second match of the ongoing three-match ODI series. After completing the New Zealand tour, the Men in Blue came to Bangladesh for this three-match ODI series followed by a two-match Test series. However, in the first match, India lost the match against Bangladesh by one wicket.

But, KL Rahul did well with the bat as he scored 73 runs off 70 balls. Apart from him, no batters scored significantly as India got bundled out for 186 runs only. However, before this series, KL Rahul failed to score runs for team India in the recent series. After the injury setback, Rahul made a comeback in the Zimbabwe ODIs.

KL Rahul scored just 14 runs off 28 balls in the second ODI

After that, he also failed to score runs in the Asia Cup. Rahul managed only one fifty against Afghanistan. Then, in the 20-20 World Cup, Rahul managed only 128 runs in six innings including two fifty-plus scores. So, fans were not happy with the star batter ahead of this series. But, he impressed everyone in the first match. Now, speaking of the second match, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first. They scored 271 runs for seven wickets in 50 overs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 100* runs off 83 balls, including eight fours and four sixes. Along with him, Mahmudullah also scored 77 runs off 96 balls, including seven fours. For India, Washington Sundar took three wickets for 37 runs in 10 overs. Meanwhile, in this match, Rohit Sharma got injured and hence, KL Rahul became the stand-in captain. In reply, India had a forgettable start as they were struggling at 13 runs for two wickets in 2.5 overs. Then, KL Rahul came but got out for 14 runs off 28 balls, at a strike rate of 50. He even failed to hit a single boundary throughout his small stay at the crease.
