Recently, Parthiv Patel has said that Rohit Sharma is a slightly better captain’ than Virat Kohli. And with this statement, he has risked annoying the fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The discussion of who is the better skipper has been doing the rounds for some time now.

Both Kohli and Rohit had begun their captaincy role for their respective IPL sides in 2013. In IPL 2020, RCB ended its journey at the playoffs stage, after the defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator.

Ever since IPL 2020 has concluded, the cricket world has been occupied with discussion over the better skipper between the two Indian cricket stars. A few former cricketers, including Michael Vaughan and Gautam Gambhir, have pointed out that Rohit should be made the India skipper at least in the T20 format.

Parthiv Patel joins the discussion

Recently, Parthiv Patel has joined the discussion as well. The wicketkeeper-batsman was a part of the RCB team for IPL 2020. However, he hadn’t played a single game despite being one of their best players during the 2019 edition of IPL. Parthiv Patel, who has played under Rohit Sharma in the IPL as well, said that the Mumbai Indians captain is marginally preferable skipper over his RCB colleague.

The veteran cricketer expressed that Rohit is superior to Kohli when it comes to decision making and game reading.

Parthiv Patel revealed to Star Sports that the discussion is about who takes a superior decision, who reads the game better, who makes a better judgment under pressure. When all these things count, Rohit Sharma is better than Virat Kohli.
