Rajasthan beat Delhi by 15 runs to move to the top of the Indian T20 League 2022 points table. Winning the toss, Delhi made the obvious choice of bowling first. With the bat, Rajasthan had the perfect start as Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal built a brilliant partnership. The two were conservative, to begin with, but started scoring from the sixth over of the innings. They added 44 runs in the powerplay. The Buttler-Padikkal duo continued to strike well and both reached their half-centuries.
Scoring 155 runs in the partnership, they registered the highest-ever opening partnership for Rajasthan. Khaleel Ahmed finally got the breakthrough for Delhi in the 16th over as he got rid of Padikkal (54 runs in 35 balls). Meanwhile, Buttler was striking the ball cleanly and raced to his third century of the season in the same over. Mustafizur Rahman eventually got him on the penultimate ball of the 19th over. Buttler scored 116 runs off 65 balls, including nine boundaries and nine sixes. Sanju Samson then played the perfect cameo as he scored 46 runs in 19 balls to take the team to the highest score in the season. The men in pink scored 222 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
Delhi needed to get to a quick start in a daunting chase, which they did. David Warmer and Prithvi Shaw started scoring quickly and added 43 runs in 4.3 overs before Warner was dismissed for 28. Sarfaraz Khan (1) also followed soon as he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin in the next over. Delhi managed to score 55 runs in the first six overs.
Shaw and Rishabh Pant then made a small partnership (51) but both lost their wickets while trying to go big. Ashwin got the wicket of Shaw (37) in the 10th over, and Krishna took the wicket of Pant (44) in the 12th over. Delhi was scoring briskly but they kept losing wicket. Axar Patel (1) fell to Chahal in the 13th over at a score of 127. Lalit Yadav kept the scoreboard ticking and brought thee equation down to 36 off 2 overs, with him and Powell at the crease.
However, Prasidh Krishna bowled a magnificent 19th over, not conceding a single run and picking up Lalit Yadav (37). With 36 needed of last over, the match was over but Rovman Powell hit three sixes on the first three balls to spook life in a dead match. However, a no-ball controversy took away the momentum and Powell could not finish the game. He lost his wicket on the final ball to Obed McCoy.

Prasidh Krishna was terrific in the 19th over 🤯, maiden plus a wicket 👏🏻 had he given atleast 5-8 runs in that over then DC might have won this easily.#RRvsDC | #RRvDC | #DCvRR | #DCvsRR | #HallaBol | #RishabhPant

Prashid Krishna spell was amazing & played a big role in winning the game for RR.
He took the 2 biggest wickets of David Warner & Rishabh Pant and bowls a maiden over in 19th over.#IPL2022 #DCvsRR— Abhimanyu (@abhimanyusrt) April 22, 2022

Delhi capitals themselves are to be blamed for the loss not because of the violation of sportsmanship by them but that drama broke the momentum of Powell's hitting. #DCvsRR @joybhattacharj #IPL2022

There should be an option for the 3rd umpire to check no balls for height too. There's auto no ball system in place too #DCvsRR

Repeat after me it was A CLEAR NO BALL @IPL #umpire👊🏻 #DCvsRR

A tournament as big as #IPL2022 has pathetic umpiring standards. It was a clear noball. I stand with Rishabh Pant and #DelhiCapitals. Should have atleast been referred upstairs. I reckon the third umpire would have called it a noball.#DCvsRR #RRvsDC

Powell was in full mood to hit 6 sixes. Momentum was on his side. And then #Pant with his bachkana and brainfade antics, just destroyed everything. #DCvsRR

Best last over in this IPL. #DCvsRR

RR deserved to win though! Sending Powell at 8 was such a tactical blunder from DC and that cost them the game.
And Prasidh was outstanding and that's one of the best bowling performances I've ever seen on a flat wicket. #DCvsRR

#DC tantrums on the no-ball call in the final over is so uncalled for.
Reminds me of Dhoni outburst in the same lines. He got away with just fine.
Same thing may happen now with DC also. Spineless IPL council 👿 #DCvsRR #IPL #IPL2022— Manjunatha Thumpiri (@manju1438) April 22, 2022
