The much-anticipated 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League is less than a week from now. The tournament will commence on Friday next week, on the 31st of March 2023. But a lot of questions are floating in the Indian cricketing scenario just ahead of the commencement of the Indian T20 League 2023.
One major and top-most question among all these is the workload management of the key Indian players keeping the ODI World Cup 2023 in focus. Notably, the marquee tournament is scheduled to play in this same year later in the month of October and November in India only.
So, the Indian fans and a few experts too, are worried about India’s preparations for the major international tournament in their own backyards; given the fact that India recently lost a three-match ODI series at home against Australia.
Meanwhile, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has also talked about the workload management of players and their concerns about taking breaks in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma; unsure of taking any stance
"I doubt if any player will take a break during IPL, it's all up to franchises, they own them now but we have given some indications & more importantly it's up to players as if they feel they are getting too much, they can take a break for 1 or 2 games,” said Rohit Sharma after the conclusion of three-match ODI series against Australia.
But this statement has brought Rohit Sharma under fire from the Indian cricket fans as they are not happy with the intent and approach of the players towards the national duty and their focus on the franchise teams in the Indian T20 League.
Subsequently, the fans took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to brutally hit back at the Indian skipper and management for mismanaging the workload of players at the most crucial time when an ODI World Cup is approaching just after a few months.
Here’s how fans reacted:

Aa gaye ye log phirse ussi cheez pe...pehle BCCI bohot badi badi baate krta hai...ki key players ko rest kraege...franchises se contact kiya hai
Lo ab dekhlo
IPL in a world cup year is a crime , there is a important asia cup too before the world cups.

Franchise cricket can wait for 1 year , but BCCI thinks it is more important than world cup
Because anyhow we are going to lose World Cup by 10 wickets.

What happened to your workload management now? Shami, Siraj and others were rested from international matches for workload management but when it comes to IPL you are not sure? Key players are already out of world cup but IPL is still your top priority. Fuddu captain Fuddu player

bcci will monitor "workload of players during ipl" as its worldcup https://t.co/H23ZoDSRAr wala churan khatam ho gya hai lagta

If Rohit has the guts he should ask the bcci to ask players to do so, blaming it on the players that they won't take break is like sugar coating and saving himself.

If Rohit really want to win World Cup,

He should have skip IPL himself and set example
but as always Indian captains prefer money than NATION.
Our bcci management is so weak that our wc players are owned by them , bcci should have told them not to play ipl during the wc year , sadly after Dhoni's departure indian cricket's downfall started
