South African all-rounder Chris Morris has stated that people underestimate how quickly he can run. He played the finisher's role against Delhi Capitals and scored a match-winning inning. With RR requiring 44 off the last four overs, Morris scored 36 off 18 to win the match for his team. He performed well with the ball as well, picking up one wicket. All the teams apart from SRH have at least one win in their belt after the first couple of matches in the IPL.

After winning the match for RR, Chris Morris talked about the single that Sanju Samson denied him against Punjab Kings. Chasing 222 to win, Rajasthan fell short of just four runs, and the refused single. This later became the talking point in the game. Many people believe that Chris Morris sent a message to the RR camp and captain Samson with his match-winning innings against DC.

I wouldn't have been too upset if Samson had hit the last ball for a six: Chris Morris

The same question was asked to Chris Morris after RR's three-wicket win against Delhi Capitals. The IPL's highest-paid ₹16.25 Cr all-rounder disclosed what he felt when skipper Samson had refused the single a couple of nights ago. The Royals needed 5 runs off 2 deliveries against PBKS when Samson had turned down the single. He wanted to take matters into his hands, but he failed to hit a six off the last ball, and RR lost the game by 4 runs.

Chris Morris had a look of disbelief on his face after Sanju Samson had sent him back. However, the all-rounder showed what he could do if given an opportunity by finishing off the match for RR in their second Indian Premier League match against DC. Morris remained unbeaten on 36 off 18 balls as he helped RR chase down the 148-run target in 19.4 overs. When David Miller got out for a brilliant 62 off 43 deliveries, it was looking as if all hopes of RR winning the game had gone with him.

The Rajasthan-based franchise required 44 runs 25 balls with just 3 wickets in hand. Morris, however, proved his critics wrong by forming an unbroken 46-run partnership with Jaydev Unadkat. South African all-rounder Chris Morris justified his high price tag in the late stages of the match when he hit Kagiso Rabada and Tom Curran for several sixes to take RR over the line.
