Bangalore beat Rajasthan in a thriller of a match by four wickets to pick their second win of the Indian T20 League. Rajasthan once again lost the toss and was asked to bat first. They lost Yashaswi Jaiswal early on, but Devdutt Padikkal and Jos Buttler kept the innings afloat with a 70 run stand for the second wicket. A few wickets in the middle phase showed down the run rate and the slow pitch didn't allow the new batters to hit the big shots.
In the final overs, Jos Buttler and Shimron Hetmyer added a few quick runs to push Rajasthan to 169. Buttler scored 70 runs in 47 balls, hitting six sixes and no boundaries in his innings. Hetmyer too fired in the end with his 42 runs in 31 balls. He hit five fours and two sixes.
Rajasthan lost just three wickets in their innings, with an ordinary performance from Bangalore bowlers. David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel took a wicket each. All three were fairly economical in the innings.
In the chase, Bangalore had a decent start as they did not lose a wicket in the powerplay. However, the wicket of Faf du Plessis triggered a collapse. They were restricted to 62-4 in the ninth over. Half of their side was sent back to the dressing for just 87 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik, however, had other ideas as they stitched a partnership of 67 runs. Ahmed scored 45 runs in 26 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes. Karthik, however, was at his very best as he scored 44 runs in 23 balls. He hit seven fours and a six in the innings.
For Rajasthan, Trent Boult picked two wickets, but Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers. In his spell of four overs, he conceded just 15 runs and took two wickets.

Bit of a melt down for Rajasthan after a terrific middle phase. Of course the dew doesn’t help, but a bit off the mark with their bowling and field plans towards the end .. But just the first loss for a solid side. #RRvsRCB

Shahbaz and @DineshKarthik made the win easy for @RCBTweets
The death bowling and middle order batsmen are the only concerns.
Hope @mdsirajofficial will come back to form soon.#RRvsRCB— Rachita J (@rachita1j) April 5, 2022
Some of the said me under RR Tweet that RCB won’t be winning, yeah Kohli got out earlier but this is not choking RCB like last 3 years after Kohli, ABD gets out. Now, DK and Shabhaz made some of their mouth shut.#RCB #RRvsRCB
