England’s theory of Bazball under captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum has come under the scanner after a defeat against Australia in the first Test of The Ashes 2023. A lot of former cricketers and the experts of the game happened to question the over-aggressive approach of skipper Ben Stokes and England coach Brendon McCullum.

Meanwhile, the England coach and former New Zealand great, Brendon McCullum has come up with a fresh statement after the defeat in the Edgbaston Test and ahead of the Lord’s Test. The former Kiwi star felt that the Englishmen will surely go harder on the visitors in the upcoming second Test of the Ashes 2023 at the Lord’s in London.

"I'm sure they'll stick to that strategy, which is great because we'll go a little harder," said McCullum to BBC.

Although the cricket fans took this statement of Brendon McCullum as an opportunity to troll him and their Bazball theory that drastically failed against the traditional approach of the Pat Cummins-led Australian side. Fans took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and came up with some hilarious and interesting remarks for both England Cricket Team and for the Stokes-McCullum’s captain-coach pair as well.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Apart from this, coach Brendon McCullum also talked about England’s way of approaching the game in the first Test of the rivalry. He also went on to defend England’s game in the opening Test at Edgbaston.

“The way that we played validated our style of play. If we'd have got a little bit of the rub of the green then we might have been on the other side of it. The guys are proud of the efforts that they put in and I'm sure we'll go to Lord's with a lot of confidence,” said McCullum.

"Obviously you'd rather have won the game - that's just the nature of sport sometimes. If we'd have got a little bit of the rub of the green then we might have been on the other side of it,” he stated further.
