Team India began their 20-20 World Cup 2022 with a win over Pakistan on 23 October in Melbourne. It was a much-awaited clash for the Indian fans as the Men in Blue lost the last World Cup game in 2021. However, this time they did not disappoint as India won the clash by four wickets.

However, a no-ball controversy happened in the last over of the match which made headlines in the last few days. Pakistani fans raised their voice as they blamed umpires for cheating. But, now, the former Pakistani batter, Salman Butt slammed Babar Azam and his men for not having enough knowledge of the laws of the game.

"Pakistani players need to have a better understanding of the laws.” - Salman Butt on no-ball controversy against India

While speaking on his official Youtube channel, Salman Butt said that the Pakistan players need to understand the laws better. He said: “Pakistani players need to have a better understanding of the laws. We have umpires like Aleem Dar and Hasan Raza along with other officials who can help the team with that.”

Butt also suggested that players need to clear their doubts by asking questions. “The players should take these classes and clear their doubts by asking questions. Because while these scenarios are rare, they can occur anytime in pressure situations," Salman Butt concluded. Speaking of the match, India won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. The Men in Green scored 159 runs in 20 overs by losing eight weeks.

In reply, India managed to win the thriller on the last ball of the match. In that over, the no-ball controversy happened as Virat Kohli smashed that delivery for a six. The former Indian skipper was the player of the match as he scored 82* runs off 53 balls. He managed to hit six fours and six fours throughout his innings. Now, India will take on the Netherlands on 27 October 2022 in Sydney while Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe for their second match of the tournament.
