The IPL 2021 Auction might begin on the proposed date of April-May 2021. However, this is just provisional. The BCCI is yet to arrive at a conclusion in December 2020. There are strong rumors that a new team will join the IPL next season. With such rumors around the corner, every franchise will look to retain key players and offload players who have been unable to perform consistently.

Here we list out some potential players who might be voted out of their respective franchises:

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Shreevats Goswami

With just 29 appearances in 13 years, Shreevats Goswami has not had an IPL career to cherish. He failed to display heroics similar to that in the 2008 U-19 World Cup, where India won the championship. A backup wicketkeeper for SRH, Goswami got a chance to play only after Wriddhiman Saha got injured. Owing to this, his future at SRH looks gloomy at best.

Bavanaka Sandeep

Like Shreevats Goswami, Bavanaka Sandeep is a name unfamiliar among SRH fans. His heroics in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, where he bagged 400 runs in just 4 matches, have not yielded him any fruit in IPL. Moreover, with Priyam Garg and Abhishek Sharma in the team, things look bleak for Sandeep.

Delhi Capitals

Ajinkya Rahane

One player who might see the exit door next season is Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane has been a consistent performer in IPL every season. However, he failed to deliver the goods this season.

He managed to score only 113 runs in 9 games, well below his usual standards. With Marcus Stoinis partnering with Shikhar Dhawan, it is unlikely for Rahane to sustain his position in the team.

Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw performed extremely well in the last two seasons, scoring 826 runs in 38 innings. Everyone expected him to deliver the same standards this season. However, he performed way below expectations. He managed to score only 228 runs in 13 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kuldeep Yadav

Once an inherent part of the team, Kuldeep Yadav might be the first to leave KKR next season. He managed to play only 5 games this season, taking 1 wicket in the entire season. Such bowling statistics are definitely flagrant. As a reason, he sat out most of the season.

Tim Seifert

Brought in as a replacement for the injured Moeen Ali, Tim Seifert failed to impress KKR’s selection panel. He only managed to warm the bench the entire season. With only a maximum of 8 foreign players permitted, it is likely that Seifert will be excluded from that category.
