Bangalore and Rajasthan are locking horns in the all-important qualifier game of the Indian T20 League 2022. After winning the toss, Rajasthan asked Bangalore to bat first at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Virat Kohli got out early, bringing Rajat Patidar to the crease. The 28-year-old continued his form from the last match and played a brilliant knock to get the team in a controlled position.

While a few wickets fell on the other end, Patidar played a crucial inning. He took calculated chances to score boundaries while also taking the important singles and doubles. He took on Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been Rajasthan's most successful bowler this season, and got good results. Patidar hit a six to Chahal in the 15th over to get to his half-century. He hit one more six to Ashwin in the next over before falling to him in the same over. He scored 58 runs in 42 balls, hitting four boundaries and three sixes.

The batter received tremendous admiration from Twitter as he followed up his hundred with a half-century. In the previous game against Lucknow, Patidar scored a magnificent and quick hundred, while most other batters struggled on a difficult wicket. He set up the game brilliantly by scoring 112 runs in 54 balls.

"Made Chahal try different variations to him & pumped him under pressure... that's your power Rajat!! Back to back Great knocks... " a fan pointed out. "What an excellent player he is. He just made his century in the previous match and again a half-century with a six," another fan wrote.

Patidar, however, was not supposed to play the season and carry Bangalore's batting attack. He was set to get married in May after being unsold in the mega auction in February. Last season, the 28-year-old played in four games and scored 71 runs before being released by Bangalore. They did not bid on him in the mega auction, but Patidar was brought in as a replacement player owing to an injury to Luvnith Sisodia.
